the heaviness of the fog
draped over Bayou Lafourche
looked as though I would be able to
put my words in writing upon it
     it seemed to me
     the oppressive fog
was fighting against the coming sunrise
its grayness appeared to tighten up
in a sad kind of way
          knowing the sun would win

Thank you KentAshbyKorb. Yes, I live in the south Louisiana swamps, and you are correct it is amazing what a person can learn to love.

Mood setting...great. In the end each is important and plays it's part.

Nothing like an early morning mist rising above a mountain lake...like a slow lifting of a veil - then...the majesty of the mountains bathed in the golden rays of the Sun.

Darn, now I have to take a trip to the Rockies...lol.
