time to take comfort in the night
I remove my daily embellishments
prepare for bed

I'm pretty high like always
cheap California burgundy on my breath
wine dreams can be good dreams
and, head on pillow I anticipate them eagerly
maybe it'll be a good night

The Hovel has become quiet
outside a dog barks
Zoe growls
she is on guard
sometimes she thinks she's a pit bull
I caress the moments before slumber
trying, like always
to regain misplaced moments in time

I find it fascinating how people set their minds for sleep. Thanks for the peek into yours.

"Misplaced moments in time"

I really like that.  I catch a glimpse of mine sometimes, though those glimpses are fleeting at best.  Look very forward to my dreams at night as well.  It seems that's the safest place for me these days.  Very enjoyable read here.  I can truly relate.
