where the wild flowers grow

The night is quiet,
stagnant air encircles me,
I think
about love lost and gained,
   comparing a gentle sun
    to pouring rain..
That I am so much happier now,
      but then again
I sometimes miss the ache
of you...

It was no mistake,
I gave us up, I gave up my writing,
for I always penned my pain,
    never the joy,
       always the fighting..
I threw it all away
for a man more inviting..
No, it was no mistake
      I wouldn't change it
       for the world..

But on occasion,
I feel so rich,
  so over fed,
that I miss feeling hunger.
At times,
I miss crying alone..

I am happy now,
but more so knowing
you are as well,
but my memories are addicted
to the best parts of hell.

Superb and sensitive introspection, Kaoru, and exquisitely executed in your inimitably beautiful style.

O I understand; I used to write with the vice of another, so much more passion, but the flipside was aching with heartbreak all the time

The touch, bad guy seems to be an undeniably attraction for many women. I think it is the danger associated with him, plus, as Emma said, the passion. This was a very good, all-telling poem.

This is an honest poem which speaks a dire truth. Poets love pain, it is easier to write about. I understand this completely.
