a homo sapien I am
my stay on this earth tenuous
still . . .
when I am alone
staring up into the bejeweled night
watching the stars blink and streak and write
giving me messages
I can actually understand
I comprehend writing
whether it comes to me by pen and paper
or night messages only for me
it is at times such as these
that I feel
I will forever live
never to die

Just peeked in for a moment and your title made me wonder ... I am glad that I read your beautiful poem, Jerry.

You touched the core of your (and our) being!

Wonderful.
