how far away is tomorrow
how long do I have to wait?
where is yesterday?
is it really gone and spent?

where is the future?
as it lays in our children's hands?
always searching for our guidance
wondering who laid out the plans?

returning to the present
and avoiding all the traps
beginning to unravel
as the past loosens it's grasp

winning another battle
if only for my child's sake
knowing that our future
has way too much at stake.....

Yes indeed, it is always about the children, as it should be. Each generation finds their own reason to live life as they do, but in the end, it should be all about the children.

So true. I love your thoughts here, they express very well a parent's anxiety about the future.

There are signs of awakening around in the world, even if chaos still reigns and evolution occurs too slowly. There are so many young people who support a more sustainable way of living and work in the direction of peaceful, fruitful co-living with all of humanity. They will succeed in mending the mistakes of past generations.

Good work.

Some deep ponderings here... and, as a parent, ones I have shared.  The world can be a horrible place to wake up to if you're waking alone, and no parent would want that for their child.  When my life unravelled around me, it was the strength of the bond I had with my children that saw me through.  Enjoyed the read.  Brought with it some good reflections.
