Glow Of Fire

(from Faces of Love)

Your face,
after what we just did
has the glow of fire -

I bathe in it's glow,
my lips burn
where they touch your cheek,
I sink deep
into the hearth of your eyes
and allow myself
to be consumed
in the embers of your soul.

Your face
has the glow of fire -

and I, the kindling,

~

can't wait
to be burned.

This one has metaphors galore J, and all of them on the simmering and hot side of the natural physical drive of sensuousness.

I remember this beauty, dear Jimmy, and it means that the impression was very strong even the first time I read it.

jumping into the fire takes great desire
which the poet
