WHEN I DIE
7 July 2013

when I die
neither the sun
nor the moon
will notice
nor know
nor care

and all my years
and I
will be
obliterated
lost
washed away
like finger-writing
on hard, wet beachsand
as the wave returns

. . . not gone
but never was

You will only be gone when there is no one to remember you, Owl.

You express your sadness beautifully, dear Diana.

Yet, may you remember that we are all divine offspring and we are loved and we have been sent here on Earth for a reason ... in my opinion the main reason is to learn to love each other. Whenever we express love we fulfill our mission and I am sure God is very pleased with you and the use you make of your heart, when you are in full awareness of Who you really are, a unique wonderful being who is given the chance to BE LOVE, TO GIVE LOVE AND TO RECEIVE LOVE.

Matthew 10.30 : And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Love is energy that can't be destroyed. What has been given remains forever in circulation ...

Love,
Margherita

For some of us to leave this world and have our traces erased might seem like a good thing. But you on the other hand, have left such a loving trail behind you that there is no way it will ever be as if you never existed. Among animals alone (living and passed) your heart is legend.

I don't know if it's true, but I think that even when we die, the universe keeps us in its memory. Something goes, but something remains.

Oh, this is actually painful, Diana but I have to say that I agree with Lori and Margherita. Hugs to you.

Thank you, Gale, Ida and Spiros for your kind words.  Spiros, in no way do I want to be dead, but it would be so much easier if I were.  I don't say that lightly, especially in the light of the shock of the news of Helen's passing.  Pressures are just getting too much for me.

I feel this, and often. Beautiful even if it saddens.

Thank you, Spiros.  I wrote this before Helen passed away, but my reply to you was after she did and after I knew.

I mentioned her passing because I didn't want readers to think that I took her passing lightly when I said that it would be easier if I were dead.

Whilst I am not in a position to know well, I believe that Helen was cheerful and brave in the face of her illness, I also believe that, either aside from or including her illness, there were times when she was as sad as a poet can get.

Thank you, Kaoru for your reply, kind words and sharing.  It saddens me that you feel this way often.
