Where you cognizant that you loved me,
And of your love was I aware?
Young love can happen when you're old,
Consume you like purified air.

Destiny, like wind to your back,
Pushes you onward, n'er to end.
Once in a while I see you pass,
I've kept your secret my good friend.

Very endearing, although I wonder if love can be a secret, ever?

perhaps you might enjoy this, my second favorite poems of all time, by Donald Justice?

Love.

Timeless, Ageless. And at times, excruciating. And certainly not for the feign of heart.

You're charming, my friend.

Good morning, Lori, thank you so much for stopping by, it is always great to see you. Fireworks?! Could be, after all it is the day for them.

Thanks for the poem link, Lady Goodman, it is exquisite and right on spot. If that is your second favorite poem, what, pray tell, would be your first? Thanks again.

Thanks for your favorite poem, and the lesson is there and I grasp it completely. About these lines . . .
quote:
but at the same time i wish
there was something i wanted
as badly as he wanted to fry himself

I must say that, given the day it is and what it stands for here in America, I maintain that there have been something that men and women have wanted to badly that they have given their lives to keep it, and that something is Freedom. It isn't quite what the moth feels, but it is probably as close as we can possibly get.

This is very beautiful, Jerry. The perception of love may change along the years, but one symptom will always remain the same: accelerated heartbeat. That makes it unforgettable. And the secrecy makes it even stronger I believe.

This is inspiring.

Your reply is as beautiful as a poem, Margherita. Appreciate it.
