Fair to middlin' of nowhere

She came over in the “Great Move”
from the original porch
complete with her original silk flowers
But it had been years now
and she'd long since
been deflowered
She was lovely cylindrical
flawless faux carved stone
in classic design
She stood empty
but elegant on display
She pulled her weight
with the mosquito netting
holding a snag-free corner
Ideas have come and gone
not meeting with
her approval
as to
what to put
back inside her
Until today
when an impetuous notion
drove me out into
the three o'clock sun
without a hat
in search of
stray patches
of wheat
And there they were
just enough to fill
the ole' girl
and shut her up
She was splendid again
in the limelight
No longer dead weight
she had delicate dry stalks
to golden peacock display
No longer just an empty pot
No, not after today

Seems your Muse has been suddenly awakened and you are on a roll. This is typical Lori poetry!! Great to be reading it again.

Yeah, I think my Muse got pinched by the Mamo machine! LOL! Thanks JP.
