Beware of angels with wide wings
their shadows darken every thing.
Be aware their eyes as well.
Eyes will witness; mouths will tell.
Be ye cautious of their arms--
they'll break your fall to steal your charms.

As of love? I gave. I lost.
All itemized in tallied cost.
I stood behind one such as me,
and realized nothing is free.

Calculate the ticking clock,
and when you come to what is not

it's there you'll find eternity--
with your six pack growing hot?
You'll search through files of memory
wondering what you forgot

and pay your tab uncertainly
"We'll take all that you've got."

Oh, sadly how true this is of humanity, Karen, but for those of us who give and lose, I believe we gain so much more than those who take and think they have won.  We are so very much richer for the seeing, feeling, touching, understanding and knowing the things that we do.  And oh how sad and shallow and empty the lives of the takers are, all the more because they don’t know how sad and shallow and empty their shells are and because they know not what they do, nor are, nor could be.  I ache for your pain, and mine and all those like us.  You have taken yours and weaved it into yet another wonderwork, which is simultaneously a call for relief, a catharsis for you and all of us who find it so, a comfort for all who feel it to stand strong and proud, and most of all it is a glorious proclamation of victory!

I like the poem.
It's sad.
But everything uses to get over.
I only believe that true love never ends.

What a dramatic and superb way to condense love debacle, using angels as the aider and abetter to sabotage love. Refreshing take on the tragedy that love brings us more times than not.

"calculate the ticking clock
an when you come what is not

Love this. Deep and true as always, Karen.

Hey Ida...I knew you'd find me.

I had to de-activate my Facebook account, as I'm once again awash in a lot of family probs that leave me feeling extremely conflicted. It was also taking up a LOT of my time...

I miss writing those rants, actually.

But since so many have asked if I had a blog (I had one long ago, but not one I want anyone to read.) So I'm considering gathering some material for something of that sort. The problem with sharing family stories is that some of them are quite painful, and just like in every family--the accuracy of memory differs as much as the personalities of each family member.

Perhaps, perhaps. I love you much, lady.

And really, this poetry thing? *shrug* I'm just too lazy to organize my thoughts into logical sequences, not to mention with all of that fussy grammar and punctuation!

I fear my fish are not being fed, though. And my town must be in dire need of repair by now.

Ty again.
