I'll call you
To tell you that I wish for you
Lasting peace
And there in the space between my words and your hearing,
Will lay too many years of hurting

While I talk to you
I'll wish for you
A surpassing kind of joy
And just there behind the truthfulness of my words,
Will stretch miles and miles of neglect

When I speak with you again
It will be to wish you and yours
Unconditional love
And right there, just beneath the honest sentiment,
Will flow oceans of forgiveness

I'll call
And with the aid of time,
And distance,
And determination
When I wish you the best
I'll really mean it

Happy Father's Day

"I'll tell you how the sun rose
A ribbon at a time..." - Emily Dickinson

There is so much here, that tells a story of wrong doing, and the ability to keep on trying to deal with it with an honest approach. It is sad that so many children are left to wander within their own horrors about crimes against them. My sympathies are with you big time.

Poignant expressions, dear MorningStar. Compassionate intentions, based on wisdom and sensitivity gained through some tough lessons.

Very well done.
