"the edge of madness
lost...a grown man
in an endless spinning wheel

dreaming on and on and on
until the dream becomes a nightmare
and he never wakes up

they're watching
they're waiting

they're coming
they're HEEREE

finally awake now
he can only wish
the nightmare was over
so that the dream
could become real...."

That is me, my friend, during my lost decades. I so like your style.

I met someone recently that I actually wrote this about right off the top of my head ... sad days in the world for sure wishing for some sunshine we never find and if we do we don't recognize it anyway....so we keep on dreaming until it turns into our own nightmare. Thank you for reading your comment helped me reflect.

Ha! Yeppers, that pretty much describes me too! Enjoyed your poem!

Oh, and I enjoyed your 'reflection' as well!  and, um, I'm sure you know this already, but... it does take a bit of 'sunshine' to be blessed with one of them.
