Deprived of Spring's
bright attire, the visit
of the blackbird offers
no solace, just a terse
requiem

and O how I long for
the churchbells to gather.

Oh, preserve, dear EmmaRose, preserve, the churchbells will be tolling soon enough. I hear them year round where I live, there's a huge Catholic church with two blocks of where I sit.

Very beautiful, though deeply melancholic.

Hey, come to think of it, my neck of the woods has been missing those 'church bells' as well.  Hmmmm, only been hearing crows, pigeons, jays, and such as of late, hmmmm. Nice poem! Very thoughtfully written.

Beautiful piece, my friend. But as for the blackbird ... I love the Redwings when in their full glory, and the Yellow-headed - wow!
Now, maybe you mean their babies --- talk about the ugly ducklings!!

Laughing here, hopefully with you, my friend.

Awesome piece.
