this is not new to me
I've straddled the chasm
between character and circumstance
I have been torn between tranquility
and soul destroying tempests
I have the wounds
forever to remind me
what might have happened to me
I'm not a praying man
even in the direst of the hard times
still . . .
I knew there was more to living
than what I had
I'd heard of love
tried to force it upon myself
three times
two of which were disasters
the third one
well . . . we put on a good fake
both of us
the mystery of life
is an elusive undertone
perhaps given to me by the full of the moon
and finally
my embrace of true love

If I'm to understand this... you have finally found true love? I hope so, if not don't give up. Enjoyed the read.

Hah! So do I, Ida, I've had far too many of the other kind. Happy to see you here.

True love is to love the only person who can make you miserable.

Your letters like scattered pearls and your
words like Symphony always looking forward to it.

All my respect
