I cannot for the life of me begin
To write a single sonnet "oh but why?"
For every time I start I must again
Rewrite each verse no matter how I try

My words come out so funny like a lisp
My lines are crooked like anatomy
And though I sound it out aloud I miss
The proper structure "what is wrong with me?"

I though myself to be a modern "Spear"
With diamond sharpened wit and wetter pen
But all the "Shake" I muster up, I fear,
Discounts my credibility with men

I may be better off to write, who knows?
Dear reader should I try my hand at prose?

I think you done the Shakespearean Sonnet thing proud here!   ...but, come to think of it, you're also pretty gosh darn good at prose, so, um, yeah, I detect a trick question here in the midst. Hmmmm...

A fun write.  Enjoyed!
