Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2013-05-12 07:59 PM

Carefully, in my best writing
(penmanship counts)
and on a beautiful card,
I wrote a message
to my Mother on her day.
I expressed my love
and I thanked her for her love
and her unconditional support.
After sealing the envelope
with a kiss,
I lit it with a match
in the woodstove,
watching the flames dance
as the smoke carried
my message to Mom
into the clouds.

I love you, Mom.

~

Your Ali

Ahhhhhhh . . . Wonderful. You got me. Very sensitive and heart-warming.

absolutely lovely!

I've now lost almost everyone that I ever cared about ...

always difficult ... particularly on certain days and holidays

Listening to every heart

I have one card from my mother that I keep near to me...I've written of it before. That is my earthly keepsake.

But like you, I've sent many thoughts to the clouds and above...

I remember...all of the effort in childhood gifts...and I have no artistic talent whatsoever. But tonight, as I was thinking of her, I realized that when I listened to her, minded her words, gave her deference - that was when she was honored most. Mother's Day...is a special day...as are other holidays...but when you give a parent deference...

that...is when they know you care.

Love you, my girl.

I followed your love ritual with my eyes and with my heart, dear Alison, and I was deeply moved as you gracefully sent your message heavenwards.

A most beautiful way to consciously connect with your beloved Mom.

Love and hugs.

Such a beautiful idea... and such a beautiful love. Like a kiss blown across the room, I can't help thinking she caught her card and held it to her heart.

I can't really express how deeply my PiP friends have touched me as they responded to the posts and poems about my Mom.  You all have brought me smiles and comfort.
