It seems that my tomorrows,
...are lost in yesterdays,
Cassie wore a white lace dress,
...way back in second grade,
Seeking absolution,
...no idea where it lays,
Every night a eight o'clock,
...Cassie knelt and prayed,
Atonement not forthcoming,
...I'm lost, know not the way,
Cassie switched to skin tight jeans,
...by Chisholm Junior High,
Within the wheat fields of my mind,
...I never learned to pray,
Cassie moved by seventeen,
...she never said goodbye.

I, too, had my Cassie, only her name was Martha. Good write.

Reminds me of those who came and went in my life....and I wonder if they remember me like I remember them.  This left me smiling through a tear.  Memories are like that I guess.

Loved this!  It reminds me of everyone in our family that grew up and went their own way.

Good piece, my friend.  I think there are Cassies in us all.
