Her face was cold
even though the lines across her wrist
told the story of a woman
that passed through the desert
with her long legs pressed against
the back strokes of the western wind.

Sophia was the suns arc
under the crescent sky
she felt her knees rise
then buckle once
she spotted his watchful eye.

Through the years
winter, fall,
she felt his aura
his eyes tear her dress
her tears onto her white, faint blouse

Until sunrise
before midnight
before she could utter his name
he touched her
like the ravens gentle stare.
