Hi everyone!  My nephew and his bride to be, asked me to write something for their upcoming wedding day next month. I was happy to dust off the pen and have a little something to post here at Passions.

*~*

Wedding Poem – By Your Side

I stand today, in testament to all that we have known,
In witness to the depth and breadth of how our love has grown;
It seems like only yesterday, we dreamed of what might be,
Yet here today, reality is smiling back at me.

I see reflected in your eyes, the yesterdays we’ve shared,
The vast expanse of hopes and dreams we lovingly declared;
We built upon the warmth and trust that kept us ever near,
Embracing all that came our way, which brought us to be here.

For all the tender memories I hold within my heart,
I’m grateful for the past we’ve known and nurtured from the start;
From this day forward, as I build my future by your side,
I’ll cherish every vow we make together as our guide.

I’ll trust and gently nourish all the good within each day,
To share the laughter and the tears, together come what may;
I’ll be your greatest ally, as we journey through the years,
Embracing life, embracing you, no matter what appears.

I’ll honor all your secrets and I’ll love you more each day,
For I’m my best when I’m with you, and all that you portray;
I’ll foster our commitment as we face life hand in hand,
Protecting one another through this new uncharted land.

I’ll join my life to yours and guard this gift you’ve given me,
Your precious love, your tender heart, for all the world to see;
From this day forward, evermore, our future has begun,
A stepping stone to new adventures we will share as one.

This is a very special poem indeed.  It makes me reflect on the years gone by, and how fortunate I am to love and be loved in spite of all the obstacles...for better or for worse.

Lovely, just lovely....so happy to read you here.

Well, I know your nephew and his almost bride were overjoyed with this wonderful poetry. You brought everything to a stunning reality as you wrote the lines, and that reality was, and is, love evermore. Very, very good poem.

The past dreams and aspirations, the present moment, bride and groom standing side by side and/or staring into each others eyes speaking their vows, and the future promise are all so beautifully rendered here in your very very lovely and perfectly formatted wedding poem.  Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Enjoyed!

I’ll honor all your secrets and I’ll love you more each day,
For I’m my best when I’m with you, and all that you portray;

I shouldn't be surprised that your words touch me to tears... However long unused, your pen is never dusty, always divine.

Congratulations to your nephew and his bride - may they live the words his aunt has written so beautifully.

Perfect in its musical harmonious flow, dear Kit. I think indeed that this poem is a wonderful gift for your nephew and his bride, but it would fit to all those who marry and bring happiness on a wider scale. Hallmark is an idea!

Love,
Margherita

Well there sure is no one like you that can play with their feet that is for darn sure.

Are you reciting it?  Let me know if you make it through without a teardrop will you?

They are going to be thrilled Kit, and Ruth also shares with me the favorite lines.  Kudos kiddo!

You are damn youthful, your mind matured
Great rhymes, you have finely captured

You have cemented in general relationship
Between two to stabilize the partnership

In a nutshell, your write is amazing
You have the genius for finely musing.
