as I slept
the sleep of nocturnal bliss
she showed herself
the woman I covet more than life
was within touching distance
I reach for her
to feel flesh in my hands
she smiled as did so I
even as my hands clenched nothing
though she was there
she was wisps and smoke
still, I fondled the air
a tear found its way down her ghostly cheek
she said . . .
I want it as much as do you
she came and sat beside me
touched me
stroked me with such passion
it was real
thought I could not touch or feel her
she most certainly could me
when she finished with me
she stood, said, I'll be back each night to comfort you
then she was gone
I was awake

  I agree with James.

but, then again, having this apparition each night could perhaps become a bit too draining. Perhaps? Enjoyed your poem.

Heh.Heh Yes, it might be a bit draining, Bob, and to that I say, "Drain me already!" Appreciate your input buddy.
