THE ART OF UNDERSTANDING
29 April 2013

There I was
in chameleon colours
avoiding the carefully chosen
mots and moths
to preserve obscurity
as you advanced and retired
in quiver-heart song and sinuous dance.

Sometimes red and yellow
can merge into a tremble-orange sunset
where dawn and dusk
reach out and touch
across the day
and slip together
into the shadows
of the night
and
deliciously
out of sight.

(Sigh), Such a somber thought. Sunsets as well as chameleons are so beautiful with all of their blended colors and such, yes, and the thought of all this beauty slipping into some sort of obscurity, (sigh again), but, then, again, as it's been for endless ages of time, we can still hold tight to the promise that the sun will once more rise as well as the chameleons will rise once more to whatever occasion there might be to show off their true colors.  As always, Enjoyed!

Thank you, Bob.  Sometimes the dark can be a wonderful place to be, but yes, that promise is even more beautiful.  Thank you for the depth of your reading and your kindness and your understanding.

Thank you, James, for your kind words.  I know you are talking about your poem, but it was a wonderful flow in other ways too.

Thank you, Martyjo.  Yes, it was a beautiful sunset of many beautiful sunsets.
