Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2013-04-19 03:09 PM

I remember
a smile coming to my door
impatient with kisses
a tender tone of voice
warming my evenings
arms that reached
and held the world away

I remember
believing these
to be more than
wishful thinking
and wannabes

I remember
being so smitten
it did not matter
how long I waited
to sit on the floor
between his knees

I remember
begging him
into my bed
to feel  loved
there again
ending my empties

I remember
being lovesick
and blind
pushing him
to be mine

I remember
wanting him
long before
this time

I remember
fantasies
of him and me
praying for them
to come true

Maybe what

I remember
was never
really you

You seem to be working it out by blaming yourself. Somehow that doesn't seem right.

Hindsight can be 20/20...
Old habits are hard to break...
My pitty pot has a custom fit...
If you are right, I'd have to quit binging on chocolate...

I appreciate your support Jerry.

I understand. It's easy for someone not involved to make judgement, besides, chocolate is good.

Nutella is addicting!  So is the cheaper store brand...  If a person could get drunk on it...I'd be plastered every night!  I eat it right out of the jar...I don't even bother with a spoon anymore.  Now THAT is sad...

Thanks for making me smile at myself Jerry.

...or, maybe, not.

You are who you are and you possess, you are 'true romanticism' through and through and, my opinion, those ideals, thoughts, emotions, etc. etc. should never, should never be dismissed as anything but.  Enjoyed each piece (along with your poem, metaphorically, speaking 'chocolate' here).
