Not only were you an Angel on Earth But now you are an Angel by God's side You were my Shelter when I was afraid From things I didn't comprehend You kept me safe I tasted your love in your cookies I felt your kisses in your pies And when you held me I never wanted to let you go If girls are made of sugar and spice And everything nice Then Grandmas are made of cookies and pies |

A wonderful tribute to your grandmother, Ceinwyn, and if it is possible she is smiling now. To take a young Ceinwyn to her breast and dish her out her pie slices and cookies straight out of the oven was love manifesting itself, and that love is given back in the form of these special poetical words. Thank you guys so much. Funny thing is that when I was writing this I wasn't sure where it was going. But, the cookies and pies just came to me. After I read it at her funeral people came up to me and said that was so Grandma with her cookies and pies |

Ahhhh, your poem is so special and that it brought back 'cookies and pies' from your Grandmother for others makes it even that much more special. It brought back memories of my Mother's home made pies for me. Thanks for sharing. |
