as he watched her
he wanted to tell her
that when he was around her
he was inspired
but recklessly alone
his heart beat against his ribcage
unmercifully
he wanted to tell her
his thoughts were porous
shifting with flecks of notions
with a surging memory
laced with a brightness of his very soul
like stars
He wanted to tell her all this
and more
instead he said
I hate being in kindergarten, don't you?
she didn't reply
all of her attention was
on the coloring book

You are the Master fisherman! I took that hook, line and sinker! You really know how to put a spin on the end! I love it!

With the mind of an adult, how charming to go back in time and relive kindergarten. Enjoyed.

Yes, it is, Bob, looking back and having lived long enough to know what your five-year-old mind would love to say to that pretty little girl.
