    The Miles Between
         Our Hearts

In these immortal hours
poised on this cusp of
  Spring,
just before the pure
and wondrous dawn,
tasting so much of
lovely reawakenings
  and renewal,
when hard reality
seems so finely
  uncertain,
would that I were
the Thief of Time
and a master of the
  universe,
who could command some
ancient and omnipotent
  magic
to dispel all the miles
between our hearts,
for every compass,
road, and dream
in the depths of my
  very soul
point only and
  irrevocably
   ... to you.

Written from a lover's heart, Bruce. The longing, with wistful desires, the despair are all front and center for the reader to digest. Nice work.
