The unpredictability of time,
Seconds, minutes and hours they go by,
Robust the winters chill, spring in its prime,
Nevertheless, they march us on to die.

My birth was a shameful one, hid from all,
Those that knew kept their secret from me well,
Sixteen years later secret made me brawl,
I asked, they lied, told them all go to hell.

Since that day I have walked the world alone,
I was bitter and found reasons to hate,
Felt I'd been dropped on earth by a cyclone,
Little did I know I was knee-deep in fate.

I  shoved love way to the back of my life,
I only looked out for number one; me,
Though I had many women and three wives,
All I wanted to do was to be free.

For two decades I fought the world in vain,
How I stayed alive I n'er understood,
I left a path of broken hearts and pain,
I didn't care I thought I was no good.

I shook the evil within me away,
Took some doing, but at last I was free.
Wondered why I lived so long, dues to pay,
I paid the dues, I somehow found the key.

At this writing I am a happy man,
Fate gave me my precious children to know.
It's all come full circle has my life's span,
Though I didn't deserve it , karma's glow.

Yes, Victoria, here I am, and happy to be here too. It could have turned out much differently, but then, I suppose all of us can say that. Thank you for your continued support . . .

Yeah, most of my poetry is taken from my life, Bruce, thank you for taking the time to read and comment.

I got into this Karma gig many years ago in a big way ... Casey, Montgomery and several others - when I was seeing "ghosts".  Haven't done that for years now . . .

Stuff can make you think, huh?

Good piece my friend,

j.

Karma pulled me in   Yes, life is very unpredictable. I've got some doozies under my belt   But, everything always seems to work out the way they are meant to be even though it might take us awhile.

I think you may be correct that things usually work out for the best, Ceinwyn. In my case it has worked out the way it has worked out. As I said in the poem, I am a happy man. Yes, it could have been worked out better, but I'm holding on to what I have. Thank you for checking this poem out.
