Just musing about the life and near loves people find themselves involved in. Not all are fortunate at finding true love as I have . . .

implications of perpetuity
lights up the temporal grandeur of the night
where frivolity takes a backseat
to nothingness and fatal dreams of yearning
alone we walk
down enthusiastic boulevards of the comatose
knowing the next corner turned
we'll find that rainbow's pot 'o gold
a shiny radiance of life's sweet liqueur
these velvety, but unrealistic thoughts
give much false hope
kinda like a woman of the street
claiming virginity
so we are back to being alone
pining for lies to be true
at times like these
when reality creeps inside our façade
that deteriorating silence
smothers our smiles

Enjoyed Jerry...nothing like the feeling of being in love...nothing wrong with keeping a dream alive.

Thank you very much, Bob, and those boulevards really do exist, I've been there, done that.

Don't know how I missed this gem earlier Jerry. You have been down this road before but you penned it in a different season and it was completely different... I love the way you are able to do that.

I know, Lori, the difference in, as you said, seasons make all the difference in how to cope with life's problems in adjusted ways. Thank you for you words.

I am counting my blessings these days!! Sometime we have to travel down roads of uncertainty where every turn leads to a dark alley.  Like you, I've been there done that!!  Thank you for this, it makes me feel grateful.

I'm very happy that my poem reached out to you, Lori. No matter the past, there is always the future to look at with positive thoughts. Thank you for being here.
