    Bereft of Love's Forgiveness

Beneath the infinite, diaphanous,
star-swept canopy of evening
mirrored in this lake of dreams,
perfect moonlight illuminates
the untouched elegance
of this deep mountain-forest,
where the night wind plays
its arboreal symphony to
  Time and Spring
as Nature mends the wrecks
  of Winter
but not those of human hearts
bereft of love’s forgiveness.

Yep, you got that right, "love’s forgiveness" usually gets mislaid somewhere along the way. Nice, very nice imaging.

I like the metaphoric relationship you present here between forgiveness and Spring. Very, very nice.
