Where Shamrocks Grow

In the field
out beyond the old barn,
where the Shamrocks grow,
luck, a crock of Irish Whiskey,
and the green satin ribbons
in your straw colored hair,
made me the man
I am today.

I still have the coin,
the two-headed one,
you gave to me, saying . . .

flip it, catch it, turn it over
on the back of your hand . . .
tails you can't have me,
heads, and I'm yours.

Forty years later
we're sitting on a blanket
where the Shamrocks still grow,
and though I know luck no longer
plays a part of the game,

I'm offering the coin,
back to you.

It seems the challenge was well met. Nice story. Because your poem flowed so effortlessly, I didn't even realize there was a word challenge involved until the end. Enjoyed it.
