Something in the way she moves...

James Taylor yes
he sings her well
he does.

It isn't what she's got to say
but how she thinks and where she's been....

Mom, she hangs around,
trying to make her presence known
even when I'm at my most alone.

California in my mind. Can't ya see the sunshine.
She's there, all the time.

Naomi she's the silver sun
Alaynna she's the moon.
There ain't no doubt in no one's mind
ain't it like a friend of mine to hit me from behind

signs that might be omens
yep, there they are
talking

something in the way she moves
I'm in California in my mind.

James Taylor does it good.
Something in the way she moves...

it's like mom watching over
where it doesn't
and will never
make a difference anyhow.

You did this one perfect. You captured what you needed to capture and I absolutely loved the way that you went about it.

Hey Dixie...this is nice...I read your reply to DG's poem for Sea.  Nothing stays the same that's for sure...but what has PIP become?  And so sadly?
I mean I'm just saying..wondering...

Bluesy girl, you and I both know what it's become...I've gone for months without posting....sad, I'm just so sad...

but how can we get PIP back lively and fun again, loving and great?

Many beloved have died...many others just not here anymore, not wanting.

Used to be here every day, all day long...sad indeed.

Gosh, I admit, before actually getting to your poem, I was first thinking Beatles, but. yeah, James does it sooooo smooth. Was listening to the song as I read your poem and yours and his do go very very well together. Enjoyed.

I get what you're saying, and I miss those days too.  Those who have passed away where a huge part of these blue pages.  Those who just up and left without a word, could take or leave this place on any given day.  (IMHO) yea it's sad but it's not going to make me cynical, not over a poetry site ...the politics are what they are, and dwelling on them is silly...although I know everyone gets busy and has a life outside the virtual blue pages. That being said, I'm still me and I'm happy... and when people say how this place is dying a slow death I feel like it's a jab to those who are trying/want to be here with a kind word for our fellow poets.

Bob, my friend, thank you for the link *smiling so big*

my mother sang the song to me and I sang it to my Naomi...and on the trip to California to see my grandbaby girl and Naomi, the song came on the radio and it turned up loud by itself. Strange yeah *raising eyebrows* but yaknow, it's all in a day's work for a ghost i guess

Lori, love you girl and no matter who comes and goes, I will always be here to read your feelings and heart because you are beautiful.

Love the write, my friend ... love the song.
Back when my wife and I were first dating we were in the piano bar of a Holiday Inn and i had asked the player if he knew that song.  He said as a matter of fact his rendition was slightly different and he had never played it publicly yet ... he played/sang it and it was one of the best renditions I've ever heard.  I listen to it quite often (James Taylors version) - like Tony Bennett's version too, but Taylor's better.  If you like Taylor, listen to Steam Roller Blues.

Again, loved the write!!
