    The Music of Wilderness,
     Spring, Love, and Time

The soft Spring winds
tease the twilight forest.
A mystic cloud-draped moon
melts in the star swept sky.
Quicksilver shadows dance
through these ‘endless’ hills.
Gently, gently …
the calming mist-fingers stroke
  the crystal waters
of this lovely lake of dreams,
without waves or ripples,
lucent mirror of my soul's content.
Here, there is only the ancient
music of wilderness, love,
  and 'Deep-Time.'

                 --- b. e. adams

[in tribute to my penultimate sensai ...
  the ancient  'endless' mountain-forests
  and lakes of Appalachia]
