we looked for the joie de vivre
in each others eyes
found it
indulged ourselves with no regret
locked in on it
we both just knew
this was it
the supreme moment in time
our time in the sun
oh, little did we know
we shoulda, oughta checked the weather forecast
for nasty dark clouds
hammered us with treacherous fury
thunder and lightning
and then a blackness
our world disappeared
it was as though we were walking on our graves
bound to catch up with us
it did
propriety
called for you
you had no choice but to answer it . . .

Well, dear Jerry, isn't this one of the most beautiful ways of finding our soul-mate? As you so powerfully express, life's peaks of joy seem so often too short, oh but to have them known!

I want to share with you the quote I have read first thing this morning:
"Le rire, la danse et la joie sont les trois archanges qui nous conduisent vers Dieu" - Nikos Kazantzakis
"Laughter, dance and joy are the three archangels who guide us towards God"

We must make it last as long as possible, but when the dark clouds approach, we may find refuge in the shelter made of memories.

Beautiful verse.

Thank you so very much, Margherita, for your lovely and inspiring input for my poem this morning.

That is a wonderful quote my friend, and THIS is just magical . . .

but when the dark clouds approach, we may find refuge in the shelter made of memories.

You capture the moments and the emotions and then mount them like butterflies in your
collection.  Beautiful!

Sometimes we know the weather forecast but we ignore it and get caught in the rain.
I really enjoyed your words Jerry as always.
