The long blue cargo boats,
the long red cargo boats,
landed at night, kisses on quays,
to me, I did not know how to keep you on board...

It is necessary to make ten thousand journeys,
to cross an amused girl,
ten thousand blue cargo boats,
ten thousand red cargo boats.....

The immense cranes with their legs of birds,
unload the blue sea cargo boats,
unload cargo boats red with shame....

The long blue cargo boats,
the long red cargo boats,
made hundred times the world tour,
and  I was not able to stay at home.....

La mer est l'épitome du désir et de la nostalgie ...

Je suis en train de lire "Sept fois le tour du soleil" par Nicole Nealey-Van de Kerchove, mais là il s'agit d'un bateau ... mais la mer est "elle" toujours.

So beautifully expressed, dear Yann!

I crossed the sea from England when I was just seven months old to meet my father for the first time In America. I was his Christmas present.
Thank you for posting yann.

thanks ida, there is a simple explanation to that metaphor,
in french this is the same word for a crane and a beautiful bird : we call them GRUE,
thanks for commenting,

have a nice day
