Ocean waves are ripples
of the past,
memories on the shores
once upon a time.

The salty taste of the breeze
lingering on passions tongue,
ebb and flow of desire,
'neath a sweet sorrow moon.

Forget- me- not tides
whisper of a starry night,
and a rivulet of moonlit waves
cascades down the back
of a memory.

Still, I wallow in it's sway,
If only for a little while.

~Victoria~

I was adored once too.
William Shakespeare

You! Victoria, are the master at  sensual metaphors. This poem is crammed full of them. That is some every good penmanship is about . . .

This is delightful, dear Victoria. You "wallow" beautifully in your memories.

I love how the past and the present blow in the breeze, and  how your poem stirs so many emotions.

My kind of poetry, so beautiful V~

Sometimes it's not so good standing on the shore but we do it, as you say, for a little while because in between the tears there are also the smiles.

Great poem, Victoria.
