Free running through a maze of streets
in a city of love, through a ghetto of trees
with my soul streaming out and my feet
fleeing peace.

Drumrolls beat in, through the haze
of a choir, through the classical movement, through a world set aflame.

Passionate searching for the pain of adventure
for the searing and cutting and hurt of the new,
horizons crossed over and out and expanded
with each strangers face (and his hands
and his lips).

To be unknown and unthought of in
a whirlwind of places, of cities and
mountains and statues and trees:
I'm a freedon, a fleeing, a fleeting desire
on a path to thje mystery, the meeting
of fire.
