The gypsy cat cuddled up
next to a wagon wheel
and sought the dream eternal love
bearing down upon the plains.

The sun rose up and higher up,
stole the cat’s dream state,
and pushed her startled and alone
into the crying fields.

She listened well to heart-sore songs
and felt the pain of deep despair
but what to do, where to go,
when trees by man cut down
and left to wither on the ground?

She ran, she ran, that gypsy cat
making circles in the sand
because even fear could not dispel
her need to be forever near
the one who fed her love.

But in the night she stalked evil;
judgment on the prowl
and grew in stature so to be
greater than imaginings.

Tread carefully lest you wake
that gypsy cat asleep!

Ah, yes, a gypsy nature, yet still a cat, most certainly. There seems to be an underlying commentary, as well. The way of the world threatening the gypsy nature.

I think I must try one...but, we'll see.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Well, I never thought I'd ever write a story about a cat but I suppose whatever I write about they'll still think as I do.  I'm working hard on trying to think another way but still a long way to go.

I guess when inconsideration removes one from their comfort zone, then two, should watch his / her rear-view mirror ... Interesting read ... In this instance anyone can become either the one or the two, while reading

Well, what have I discovered here, dear Helen! It's certainly deserving of another round to be read.
