I Cherish

Stars sparkle in a heavenly meadow;
wildflowers abloom in the night.
While the moon is a bright lemon yellow,
'tis a moonflower shining bright.
The cilantro scent of the prairie grass,
and tangerine sunlight of dawn;
Sienna embers of burning ash
and the gracefulness of a fawn.

A robins feather drifting in the breeze;
thus bejewelled wings of butterflies.
The moonlight sailing upon the blue seas
while a white trumpeter swan cries.
Each heartbeat is but a nightingale song,
Cherishing little things as life goes on.

Ah . . . THIS is just exquisite, Victoria . . .
quote:
The cilantro scent of the prairie grass,
and tangerine sunlight of dawn;

Such a heartfelt, wonderful poem about nature and how it affects us who are inside its beauty. The closing line, "Cherishing little things as life goes on." was FAN-tas-tic!

Thank you Jerry, I'm so glad you enjoyed. It looks like Jimmy and I are in the same frame of mind today cherishing the little things. So nice to hear from you as always.

Thank you Mr. B...so nice to hear from you again tonight...yes the sky is lovely at night when the moon is shining. I lived in ElPaso Tx before and the sky was so beautiful there...lavender and blue and pink.

Dear Victoria, your eyes and your heart have captured the very essence of beauty here.

Wonderful write! And like Jerry, loved the "The cilantro scent of the prairie grass".

Lived in Southwestern Desert country for a number of years, and miss the smell of the prairies . . .
