but truly, I believe writing to be a more transgressional expression of one's true self love, while expressing the limits of one's reasoning and personal experience, while exposing yourself to humiliation, criticism, and insult, while trying to at the same moment to both mask and express the vulnerability existing within our hearts and souls, working all within the confines and limitations of our chosen language, subject to the relative objectivity that is "interpretation", which can only be governed by an entity that can only by explained, defined or known as "God", all in an effort to be loved, appreciated, and patted on the back by one's friends, family and peers for having the courage to demonstrate one's own uniqueness of perspective that we foolishly think does not exist in the 7 billion other brains living on the Earth or in all the brains that have lived and died before us, like some kind of never ending runon sentence that at some point, much like our lives, will and must end. (fullstop) To sum up... Mental Masturbation is FUN! :-D

What if... On the day we die, we stand before God, he looks down, shakes his head, looks up at us, smiles and says, "You take everything waaaaay too seriously!" I think THAT would be the greatest love of all.

I agree with everything you said except the family part ha...my support comes from the blue pages only...people who don't write poetry do not understand it at all.
Enjoyed your words martini.

Agreeing with Victoria. Many do not care or understand our need to write. I am not a poet but I like to scribble, always did. I wrote letters since I first learned to write. But only those who have likewise desires care or understand and are usually pretty nice about letting us go on and often encourage us. Family members give a polite read and go on with their needs. We in turn listen and may or may not encourage them. It is life's nature I  think to be mindful of our own needs before we really get the feel of other’s deep need to be shown that they are also  in need.  All could use a bit of approval and encouragement from time to time to sort of validate us.
