.

It is July

As is usual
For this time of year
There are flies
Going in and out of
All the open windows

You can hear them buzzing
On the roads in the fields
Where occasionally a few birds
In flight perhaps even
Singing will flutter by

There are bad smells
Left over by various animals
Some of them perfectly capable
Of walking on two legs

And in a lower room
Of a fence surrounded
Yes once it was a home

Four daughters
A now no longer sickly boy

Their mother and father
And one little dog

This poem tells me a lot about you, John.

Alright
I'll bite . . .

Just what does it tell you, (or anyone),
about me?

Regardless,
thanks for reading

John
