Facebook

Definitely a love/hate venue
People leave undefined words
That reach out and touch someone
With vitriol that scorches
Certain some ones.

Innuendos that, like snakes
Make someone cringe nervously
While others, full of love and life
And giving, do just that. Live
Love, and give.

Then they love, give and live.
Then they give, live and love,
And repeat, like a recipe
They learned from childhood.

My grandmother would have been
101 yesterday. I shared that with
Friends who never knew her,
only yesterday. We
know how to live, laugh, and love.
I enjoy the positive posts!

This is the age of quick quips that sometimes can be brutal, Karilea. On the other hand they can be wonderful as you said. Sweet/Sour mix at Facebook.

Perhaps it depends on the Friends one Fosters. I love the "delete" function. Sometimes friends of friends post an adverse language; I can easily control my news feed and timeline. That way I only spend time with the more pleasant posts, of which are most, thank God.

Hi Sunshine, your words are very true, my mum use to say if you've, nothing nice to say keep it shut.
I read Facebook  but don't post I don't feel that I have anything to add to the soap opera of the mundane so I keep my mouth shut.  It seems like sex really  a lot of preamble for three minutes activity   Good write all the best OLIAS.

Unfortunately, Life is a mixture of the positive, and sometimes, not so positive.
We can ignore the unpleasantness but it is still there to be dealt with at some point.
and to learn from.
I think a good writer writes what he/she lives.

I agree with Vas. I do not have many people on facebook that rattle me in any way. If I do not agree with the politics I do not answer. We are indeed entitled to our own opinion. I just wish people would remember  Facebook is a fun place to meet friends and chat. I see no need to use this particular place to spew hate words. Jo

My dear friends, thank you all so very much for your insightful comments. I do post on FB only to share good positive thoughts as well as I can, and to keep up to date with my children and grandchildren's notes and photos of all of the progeny. I admit...there have been a few times of ire born...and I admit, I succumb unadmirably to a comment or two. I try to rise above it...so I think that even though I may share a photo or two, and a poem or more, I feel much safer here, in our blue pages of sane reality.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you, and especially Ron....for this haven that the whole world does not yet know of...thank you all so much!

I use Facebook to keep track of friends and family but I find that I have to block a lot of people, friends and family from my timeline because of the nature of some of their posts. I just recently started to give Twitter a try but honestly ... I can't seem to find a good thing to say about that experience. It may very well, fall to the wayside.
Perhaps in a few more years, when I retire, I'll turn to writing again and mayhap, frequent the halls here a little more.

Rex

Welcome home, Rex!

I'm looking towards a blizzard over the next two days. Would love to read a warm poem from your pen!

Blizzard you say ... I'm sending you lots of warm wishes but a poem? Hope you don't mind if it rises up from the dust bunnies under "Passion's" four poster bed.

I'll dust em off and see if something was made to order.
