T'was a moment in time to remember
a scent of effervescent love.
The sweet lyrics (See you in September)
had teardrops flowing like a mourning dove.
And as April showers brought May flowers
and the heat of summertime bloomed;
(roses are red and violets are blue)
the sweet garden of love was doomed.

And as golden mums and purple crocus
peeked quietly through the Autumn ground,
Tears flowed from eyes of blue lotus
as sienna leaves fell without a sound.
T'was a moment in time to remember,
within smoldering leaves of September.

Oh heck, Victoria, you had me singing this little ditty. "Do you remember that day in September," etc. It just flowed through me, and I know we all remember that day in September. How in Heaven's name could we forget? Great poetry!

Thank you Jerry...although when writing this poem I didnt have that particular day in mind but yes we will remember THAT day.
