Just a little blend of cummings form and the darkness of Poe
and romance of Ms. Victoria.

in whispering shadows
of
   (a black velvet night)

thunder beats like a drum
within
the percussion of the storm)
and
lightening crashes like cymbals,
as winds of twilight blue

claw like a black panther,
down the windowpanes)

the blood  moon drips with passion)
as a shadow creeps
in the eeriness of the fog.

blue topaz eyes
haunts
the breath of the (midnight winds)

sending  chills down the spine of the dark.

lightning strikes like a leather whip,
(down the curves of temptation)
as his shadow leads the way

( he ascends

the gossamer cobweb staircase)

heartbeat of the dark pounds
as she lay
draped in sheerness of candlelight

below the Gothic ceilings
(and
stainglass windows of her boudoir.

candlelight flickers upon
the wall of seduction)

his heart beats upon her breast,

as her flesh trembles
in the reflection

(of his
dark chameleon eyes

while
her blackberry lips
surrender beneath the realm of night)

I must confess I would of perferred to do a poe piece but his style is really hard to grasp with the flow of his meter and rhyme changing from his Raven to Romance and all his other pieces its all too much for my mind to contend with, but I do love reading his lines, even I have my limits.

Your piece was beautiful

Thank you RS...I'm not an expert either but I had fun writing it. It really wasnt the form of Poe...just the darkness of him. I tried to do the form of cummings in MY SWEET OLD ETCETERA.

I agree especially with Liz, the colors grasped my thoughts more than anything else.
They help with the seduction of the mood.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Thank you Elizabeth and Virginia, Nice of you both to peek in today...the challenge was quite fun as I like dark romance.

Loved it, V  and it reminded me
of the nights I spent in Richmond
watching Poe movies at the poet's
meeting there and the "nightmares"
I had after.

Thank you Jimmy...as long as one can tell who I am trying to imitate...the darkness tends to give that away with Poe and of course cummings is known for not using capitals and using parenthesis's and of course a whole lot more than just that. But it was fun writing. Hope all is well. Miss seeing you here.
