Black Hole

The tears don’t even register,
As they roll down my face…
So completely far gone from her –
Nothing left to embrace.
I walk this world a hollowed void,
Lost to this shadowed trail.
All beginnings and all ends destroyed,
A man beat down and frail.

The years have taught me not to wish,
The way I used to do.
Forever now I’ve missed he kiss,
And still the ache seems new.
For a fickle blade love must hold
To cut me at the stem…
And daily throw me to the cold,
While she’s still holding him.

The stars no longer shine at night.
The sun no longer rises,
As life itself becomes a blight
Of endless compromises.
And still I keep my face forward,
To face that chilling wind –
Do my best to keep moving toward
Some place this pain might end.

Some place I really don’t believe
Even exists out there.
Yet what else can I do but grieve,
And wail, and despair.
Some place where agony is not
Calculated in breath…
Where even sleep is worth a shot,
For it might grant me death.

But never dream, for there she still
Wields power over me.
Where I then wake, weaker of will
And cursing Destiny.
While the liquor in the cabinet
Burns a hole clean through my chest.
As I still fight to live, and yet
Know dying would be best.

Wow, that is some heavy writing.
Desperation, heartache and pain in
that "Black Hole".
However hard to read, it is excellent writing.

Fate is fickled and jealous but her twin destiny is more optimistic. Enjoyed even though it was heartfelt, but always nicely done and well written Michael.

Oh, my, dear Michael, "Black Hole" is the perfect title for this exellent, yet extremely sad piece, as the hope to escape this darkness doesn't filter through ...

Hugs.
