Come to Me Contessa

"Five Hundred years before the birth of Jesus."

When I met Contessa
at a fine social gathering
she told me if I was good
she would give me anything
I would desire on Valentines day
only a few weeks away.
I inquired of her what constituted
one being good or one being bad,
Contessa said, "If you have a pure heart
you would only be concerned with the good
part of the equasion and not the bad."
She added that she trusted me completely,
still she only gave of her heart to those
entertaining similar thoughts of understanding.
In the days that followed I searched the desires
of my heart trying to understand how to connect
to the lovely Contessa; pondering my level of
sincerity and the true nature of my desires.
Finally I determined the path I would take;
to get closer to Constessa I would quench my
desire (wanting) and "allow" the moments to occur.
I decided to utilize the wisdom of the first verse
of the Tao; to accomplish much by trying less,
to be ever desireless so I could see the mystery.
If I was correct in my thoughts, Contessa would
come to me and I would not only be an admirer
of her beauty but I would cherish her personality
and value her wisdom.

Tao Te Ching or the Great Way

1st Verse
"The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The Tao is both named and nameless.
As nameless it is the origin of all things;
as named it is the Mother of 10,000 things.
Every desireless, one can see the mystery;
ever desiring one sees only the manisfestations.
And the mystery itself is the doorway to all understanding."

I have always respected the wisdom of the Chinese people and the respect they have for their elders and for nature. Enjoyed and hope you have a sweet valentines day.
