.

It makes you afraid
To be so exposed

All these colors
And movements
Almost hurt your eyes

Here
There are crowds
For whom living is a given
No one here dwells
On killing themselves
From dawn to dusk
And into the night

It's all
So very new for you

An absence of darkness
At least alone
In your windowless cell
There was always a place to hide

Then out of the plane
For which you've been waiting
Dressed in a suit
He finally arrives

Suddenly frail
And gaunt with anguish
Again a girl
You come to his arms

A familiar being
The young man
Who loves you

Your only connection
To this world of light

I enjoyed reading the piece, it brought some scenes of forgotten love to mind like a daughter seeing her father for the first time in what seems like ages ago.

Wow... I hope the light will always shine upon her, and that she embraces it.  It's so easy to turn back to a familiar darkness, rather than overcome the anxieties that come with a new beginning.
