French Sonnet

I listen to the raindrops fall
and I remember long ago.
The love of you, I use to know,
the rain refreshes my recall.

Your eyes, your lips, and you so tall,
your voice your laugh, your heart aglow.
I listen to the raindrops fall,
and I remember long ago.

Whisper of your sweet words and all,
In my heart for you love does flow.
The gift of love I did bestow
in the arms of a moonlight shawl.
I listen to the raindrops fall,
and I remember long ago.

Beautifully done, Victoria. I've never ventured into the French Sonnet, preferring the Shakespearean style basically. You have written this with such a longing and reminiscences that is is very, very touching, and I quite enjoyed it.

Thank you Jerry, I think this is my first French sonnet. I usually stick with the Shakespearean style too. Actually he wasnt really that tall ha!!but it rhymed.

We have to do what we have to do when we a regimented in the rhyming scheme, I understand that well . . .

Victoria - Now you got me pondering the pinings of my "long agos". I really enjoyed the craft of your words in this work and thanks for the memories they recalled V. Namyh
