.

Now this is how
I love that woman
In these our latter days

Once or twice a month
I see her in an aisle or corridor
Note as usual she is beautiful
Smile and pass her by

Sometimes we exchange
A minute or two
Summarize our lives
When not so near
What might have been
In another time sparkling
In our eyes

Free of facts
The weight of debts
To others who own
Crucial parts of us
Waiting in the real world
With their appetites
Just outside

Oh my dear
Beyond those doors
There is no life
Both mine and yours
Only here are we possible
So let us tarry for awhile

.
