“I don’t want this anymore”
she cries into the endless night
but nought to hear or feel her plight
when loving you at such a height.

Too far away the love that holds
her heart, her mind, and body, soul,
and so she turns into the wind
that thrashes at her weakened will.

Like a tumble weed she rolls around
in search of you upon the ground
but then the day;  love goes away
not meant to be in her “today”.

“I don’t want this anymore”
she cries, she cries, she cries,
and then, of course, she dies!

I definately felt the ache in this one, and have caught myself feeling that way plenty myself.  One musn't overlook the simple daily joys they have right in front of them searching for something greater or for one they've either lost or never had... so I'm told.     Sometimes the ache can be embraced for what it is though, especially with memory, and becomes beautiful in its expression.  Maybe others can't see the beauty in this, but I certainly can and do.

Thank you so much Michael for seeing beauty where other's may see - what? I don't know but perhaps just something different which is their right of course.  I'm certainly not blind to my daily "blessings" and "joys" but still there's this thing called love, you know. Yes, I know you know.

Yesssssss!

Perfect ending when the heart (or even herself) dies from the realization that it is not meant to be. I really, really liked this poem, Helen.

Heartache is all over this one.
I guess some people can put others
,in relationships,
on such high pedestals that there is
no recourse to it's ending.

Excellent write, Helen.

Thanks, Jerry.  So glad you liked it.

JL - Thank you and, yes, you are right.   For some strange reason the pedestal and the ending were both meant to be - I just don't understand why.

ahhh life.. we always want what we cant have dont we..

and when we cant have it, we pout, grab our football, and go home..

we may die for a little while.. but then we go on.. a little bit wiser..

another wonderful one Helen!

Thank you Richy and yann.  Sometimes a want is actually a need but we always play the cards that are dealt and most times with a smile.

Dear Helen, this is a very powerful outcry of your loving and longing heart. To love someone so intensely is beautiful and yet when the feelings are not reciprocated it hurts, so we think "I don't want this anymore" and it would be good to let "them" go and wish them well, but on we go to cling, as if there was no other "horizon".

So true and well said, yet sad.

Hugs.
