just about where I want to be

I wrote my name in the sky
so you would remember me
but the sky forgot my name
I am not a memory

I carved my name into a tree
so you would remember me
but that tree was lost to greed
I am not a memory

I wrote my name in the sand
so you would remember me
but the waves washed my name away
I am not a memory

I whispered my name into your ear
so you would remember me
but you did not want to hear my name
I can not be a memory

This is lovely. Who doesn't hope to be remembered by someone who was special to us? But don't we all deserve to be more than a simple memory? Best to you.
