They use to say that December was the quietest month
for when the snow fell, even the ground could not hear it coming

They never had a quiet winter
never did a snowfall fall on deaf ears
rather, it was a small lip of the wind
that carried through the front door

A little sliver of their narrow street
let winter slowly back in
even as their front porch rested with ease
even when the branches tore at each others limbs
their leaves never left their side

Never left a tree
to side with a winter bride
four seasons are our teachers
reminders of the cycle

The tree of life that turns
the clarity of light
into a group of people
who see a reason to pride
the streets with shoulder less sleeves

For the tree of life
is the branch that touches each light
each arm that folds
holds another stone
and even when the night has brought light
she is the tree that holds the naked vessel

Very beautiful, Tomer.  There are parts that I am not up to puzzling out right now, though there is a similar winter in my South African summer heart tonight, but the poem is very beautiful, nonetheless.  I plan to come back to it to read, some time down the line when I have more "oomph" to do so.
